white goosefeathers / 10mm needles in skin / glass / wax

Creating a moving sculptural image in response to the dissonant ideas of liberation imposed upon gendered post-Soviet bodies. The work explores the motion within nostalgia but also the limitations granted by its painful expulsion from the body - in endless tension and pulsation, increasing ritual repetition. The pale white goosefeathers piercing beneath the surface of the skin, unlocking a painful anamnesis, releasing the tension inbetween the fibres of the muscular ridges encoded with a nostalgia of the self, questioning how it got here in the first place.
